About Sample Sale
Your Purchases Support Our Gold Star Families
The blue in our logo represents the blue in our flag, which signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice.
The Gold Star symbol began during World War I. At the start of the American involvement in 1917, families hung banners with blue stars representing family members in the services. If the service member died in combat, the family changed the blue star to gold.
Your purchases support Massachusetts Fallen Heroes’ mission in commemorating our fallen and supporting their families.
At Massachusetts Fallen Heroes, we memorialize our fallen and provide programs and services for our Veteran and Gold Star Family community. Please help us honor the memories of the Massachusetts men and women who served since September 11, 2001, and gave their lives for our nation.
As a group of Combat Veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, First Responders, and dedicated Volunteers, we are committed to memorializing our fellow service members who did not return home to their families. So far, we’ve raised funds, created a first-of-its-kind memorial, developed the InnoVets program to assist Veterans, and began Sample Sale to help pay for our Gold Star Family programs.
In 2013 we teamed with Seaport Square developer John Hynes, Hacin + Associates, Boston Global Investors, WS Development and designer James Carpenter and Reed Hilderbrand (Landscape Architect) to design, construct, and dedicate the Official State Memorial of the Commonwealth. On May 27th, 2016 we dedicated our 50 foot Beacon of Honor in the South Boston Seaport District to those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom since September 11, 2001.
